The best fish and chips we’ve ever had! We tried all three types of fish – wild salmon, halibut and cod and couldn’t decide which was best; they were all delicious and extremely fresh, and the batter was light and just right. The fries were also perfectly cooked.
Each serving comes with a side of crisp coleslaw, small lemon wedges and tartar sauce. The stall also has ketchup and vinegar. Food was ready within 5 minutes and the owners were nice and friendly.
We ordered 3 meals with 2 pieces of fish each, and that was just the right amount of food for a family of 4 (with 2 adults and 2 tweens).

Best Fish n Chips I have had! The fish is simply awesome, crispy and fluffy and perfect. The fries are seasoned so well. Will be back for sure and highly recommend!
My husband and I came across Haliwoods while exploring the nature around Port Renfrew. We stopped in to see their menu, and were instantly recommended to try their fish and chips by a customer who had come back for the second day in a row. The menu is limited, but everything is fantastic. We tried each of the kinds of local fish they offered and were blown away with how delicious they are. They have a great seating area in front of the truck, and were the perfect lunch stop. Highly recommend.
Delicious fish and chips, very friendly staff, a great addition to renfrew! We have bought crab and fish a few times before from the owner (pre food truck) and always had great service and food! Thanks again!
Now we’ve eaten quite a few plates of fish and chips in our lives, but this little place in Port Renfrew takes some beating. Perfectly fresh fish in light crispy batter, coleslaw that was fresh, creamy and crunchy, chips (fries) were crisp and lovely. The setting was perfect and the service friendly. 10 out of 10. Keep doing what you’re doing. If you don’t visit this place, you’re missing out.
